I'm trying to be more sustainable — these 3 Valentine's Day flower alternatives all scream luxury (sans plastic)

"If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around"

It's almost the time of year when it becomes fashionable to buy overpriced red roses wrapped in plastic. I mean, year after year these red blooms only ever last for a week before they start looking a bit... well, sad. When will we ever learn? Well, I am making 2023 the year I prioritize the environment, which means that Valentine's Day will look a liiiiitle different. Yes, this means you can wave goodbye to those plastic-ridden grocery store flowers once and for all. Instead, I'll be investing in something that will last a little longer than all of that love in the air.

Whether you're treating yourself (hell yeah!) or it's for your one and only — perhaps you're browsing for a Galentine you couldn't live without? Say hello to these Valentine's Day flower alternatives that'll keep through February and beyond. In short: they won't wither away once the week is over. They'll also be sure to bring some color into your home decor and inject a little bit of spring into your coffee table. Because I'm not sure about you, but I am in real need of warmer temperatures where I can justify digging out my sunglasses, and my Birkenstocks, and getting an iced coffee every morning. But for now, I'll just decorate my apartment to look like spring has arrived early.

See my favorite Valentine's Day flower alternatives for 2023 and get yours early (for once). I've also handpicked some fancy vases to accompany your faux flowers.

Hi! I'm Annie, and I'm the Head Ecommerce Editor at Real Homes. Along with my team, I'm here to review all of the products you might be considering buying for your home. As someone who lives in a flat with a small amount of storage space to work with, and with two indoor pets to clean up after, I am forever searching for stylish yet functional appliances that won't blemish my decor if I can't fit them in a cupboard. I love decorating my living room for each season, while my other hobbies include drinking a decent cup of coffee, going on park walks with my dog and enjoying an Instagrammable brunch with my husband.
